My name is Sharon Chepchirchir, I am 18 years old. I have one parent, my mother, but I have stayed with my grandmother since I was born. I have two sisters who are in high school. My grandmother lives in her mothers place so since I was young, we faced so much conflict from extended family. Most of them are drunkards so they keep coming to try and chase us out of the land.

I have had many challenges while trying to finish my primary and secondary school. I remember going to school without uniform, and being sent home so many times because I lacked school fees. When I was in class 8, my mother introduced me to my father. However, he got an accident soon after and passed away. This was very painful and life has not been easy, but I thank God that he has kept my family and I strong. I am grateful for NRF as it means a light to my path. I would like to study education. Teaching is something I enjoy, I always tutored my peers in school and I teach and the Sunday school in my Church back home. It has always been my prayer to not only teach young people, but also mentor them and encourage them not to give up in life, especially those who have had challenges like mine.
